 POSITION SUMMARY

 As a member of the Talent Management organization, this Training Consultant position is responsible for the design, implementation and on-going evaluation of strategic human performance improvement initiatives, including manager/leader development.  Consultant will need to influence leaders at all levels on educational strategies and decisions. 

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

·         Accountability for Manager Effectiveness initiatives (concept to delivery)

·         Development and delivery of highly effective and engaging training programs that increase organizational effectiveness and improve performance

·         Drive organizational change and development in support of strategic initiatives

·         Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Business Leaders and Training Managers on the structure of training programs, linking training to specific skill requirements and organizational goals

·         Monitor the quality and effectiveness of training programs and make changes as appropriate

·         Evaluate vendors to select the best service provider to meet business needs

·         Maintains primary responsibility for delivering training programs in an expert manner and facilitates programs outside of assigned curricula to support team members and shifting business needs.

·         Maximize operational and organizational efficiencies through technology enhancements and process improvements.

·         Define and provide meaningful metrics for senior level leaders to demonstrate the impact of leadership development programs on their business 

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Bachelor’s degree; preferred Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Instructional Design, or related field

·         5+ years experience in learning and development, specifically manager/leadership development in a corporate learning environment

·         Successful proven history working and influencing senior level leaders

·         Ability to manage tasks at a tactical and strategic level

·         Expertise in Instructional Design methodologies and practices, and Human Performance Technology

·         Exceptional relationship building and change management skills

·         Ability to perform in highly complex and stressful situations

·         Self-starter

·         Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential

·         Expert in MS Office applications (primarily Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and conduct internal training for all new employees, including orientation and basic training for all staff using curriculum developed in conjunction with management staff from each division.
  • Coordinate training schedule with hiring and training demands of company
  • Formulate teaching outline and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops
  • Select or develop training aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials and reference works
  • Test trainees to measure progress and evaluate effectiveness of training
  • Confer with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training
  • Develop and conduct external training meetings for NEBA members and HCS/PPS clients, including monthly NEBA webcasts and training sessions where we bring clients into our offices. Training will include FDR systems, bank operations, and general payments industry info. 

 

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • The ability to pull required information from each division's staff and place it into a format and media which will allow the trainer to conduct the actual training, only using operating staff to answer specific questions which may arise.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Creative ability, writing proficiency and visual graphics design ability.
  • Excellent public speaker at ease moderating large groups.

The MIT Leadership Center seeks a full-time associate director to develop, manage and promote an innovative MBA leadership curriculum, workshops and related Center activities for a top-ranking global business school. This person would work closely with the faculty director, MBA program offices, students  and industry to help design and implement leadership curriculum and courses, manage development of and logistics for a series of leadership workshops, and  promote the offerings to students. The associate director would direct events and conferences with students and other stakeholders, and oversee the development and production of curriculum and promotion materials. The associate director would select and manage all vendors to produce Center events and workshops. The associate director would also participate in developing the Center’s strategy and direction. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

·         Develop and implement action-based and skill-development leadership curriculum and workshop offerings, primarily for MBA students.

·         Oversee development and delivery of up to 50 leadership workshops annually for MIT Sloan students and alumni.

·         Coordinate logistics and event management for conferences, and MBA leadership workshops.  Plan and direct significant special events, including large conferences and executive forums. Manage relationships with senior executives, donors, speakers, vendors, and MBA program offices.

·         Work with companies and executives, faculty, staff and students to manage and evaluate leadership workshops and courses for the MBA program.

·         Participate in discussions regarding policy and leadership curriculum requirements for the MBA program.

·         Participate in coordinating Center operations.

 Supervision Received

This person will report to the Executive Director of the MIT Leadership Center, but also will be responsible to the Faculty Director for developing leadership programs. The associate director must also work with the center’s administrative support staff. Goals are developed with the directors and other core faculty; work is reviewed informally on an ongoing basis and formally at key stages.

 Supervision Exercised

This person does not have formal supervision responsibility, although s/he is expected to oversee the work of vendors and to coach and guide others (e.g. students, administrative help and colleagues) to build support and consensus among diverse groups.

 Qualifications/Technical Skills

A minimum of six to eight years experience and a degree in business, academic administration, leadership development or related field is required. The associate director should have strong experience in program/curriculum development, events and project management. This person should be a creative self-starter and be able to work effectively individually and as part of cross-disciplinary teams that include faculty, staff from other departments, vendors, and students. Should be adept at establishing effective working relationships with faculty and corporate executives.  Must be able to think and act strategically and possess outstanding writing, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
